Alec’s diary continues:

Up at 7.0 a.m. met Chas just outside hotel. Arrived Laira in time to take 8.0 a.m. to Launceston. Sent boy to shop at corner for a pie and a few buns. Lovely weather. Just the slightest wind. John arrived at 3.45 p.m. Did not go out in evening.
