Alec’s diary continues:

Caught 8.20 Hanwell and 9.5 a.m. Paddington. Train late but got home 1.30 p.m. Letter from Exeter Athelney and Don Hewlett who is at Bristol. John at party and Cedric & Kay at Weston so amused myself for rest of afternoon. Went to pictures in evening and took Dad up to the Salthouse for a quick one. Very crowded so we did not stop for a second round.
